At ARROWHEAD we believe that a "busy child" is a "happy camper." We offer the most comprehensive variety of activities of any area DAY CAMP - all designed with this in mind. Never the less - as times, tastes, and trends change we are always adding, improving, and upgrading our facility, program and activities to keep up with the times. Many of our improvements have come from suggestions via our ARROWHEAD family (campers, parents and staff).
Since our inaugural season in 1956, when swimming, arts and crafts, archery, boating and softball seemed to be more than enough for that generation, we have annually improved and expanded our program. Here are some examples by the decade:
1960s - Pool # 3, miniature golf, 4 tennis courts, gymnastics
1970s - 4 soccer fields, separate arts and crafts facilities for each camp division, street hockey, orienteering, heated swimming pools
1980s - Pool # 4 (heated), computers, air conditioned mess hall
1990s - 6 Ga Ga courts, high ropes course with climbing walls, zip lines, driving range, marksmanship, daily salad bar at lunch, extended day service (camper care)
2000s - Added more air-conditioned facilities (infirmary, computer room, arts & crafts), 115 ft. tobaggon style waterslide, lacrosse, flexible "any" 4, 5, 6, or 7 week sessions, 22 ft. observatory tower on Lake Arrowhead, daily electives (Clubs) to our roster, hi-tech game room
That's just a sample - but it's easy to see why ARROWHEAD has remained the leader in area DAY CAMPS since 1956.
